I had mine out. Just keep your tongue out of the stitches. The first 2 days are the worst then you ease out of it. Full recovery might take a week or two.

Just stick your tongue out if you feel like you're going to try touching the stitches with your tongue. You'll be on pain killers too

Ever take a straw, trap the liquid with your finger and drop it in your mouth?

Well you'll want to use that trick for the first couple of days. DO NOT suck on anything like a straw or water bottle it might pop the stitches out and then recovery will take longer after you get re-stitched

Funny thing, I just had MINE pulled. Here's some advice/the stuff that I did during recovery:

-Spring for sleeping gas

-Get some tissues, ice, towels, and a trash can for recovery for cleanup, swell-down, ice covers, and trash/vomit respectively.

-You'll be in for EXCRUCIATING pain for the first night, but it'll thankfully get better if you keep the ice on.

-Only eat foods that don't require chewing, and clean your mouth w/ saltwater 3-5 times a day.

-You'll be back on your feet about halfway through Week 1, but stay in bed until then.

-Check back for updates with your doctor the week after the pulling.

You got this, it's actually not that bad. The pain may bother you for a few days but it'll be over before you know it. :D

I had mine pulled out last August :)

Been there, done that, man. I was under the anaesthetic at the time, so didn't feel a thing...

The recovery process though... that was a real bitch. =p

Don't worry though, you've got this. :)

Six months?! Are you serious? Maybe I got real lucky then, because it took me around a week or two to fully recover. =p

By that I mean back to eating pretty much regularly instead of blending steaks and soups, and sipping through a straw. Seems so out of the ordinary, so could you please elaborate a little? 'Cause now I'm curious. :?

I'm actually having my appointment probably in about six months or sooner if my tooth starts bothering me. =p
